  • DEA’s TEN HOUR SLOG FOR CHARITY DEA Sue Cole will be pulling on her walking boots with a vengeance next month when she sets out on a gruelling 10-hour trek across some rugged terrain – but it’s all in a good cause.   • MEP OFFERS HELPING HAND TO TSOs Assessors’ group Midlands Energy Professionals has offered to help Trading Standards officers in its region learn about the EPBD regulations and the resultant range of certificates which TSOs are required to enforce. MEP President Glen Neville (left) said that there had been particular concern about lack of compliance in some areas of the industry, but his initiative was aimed at improving EPBD compliance in all sectors.   • ASSESSORS ATTEND LANDMARK MEETING Members of Midlands Energy Professionals have become the first energy assessors ever to meet with leading HVAC manufacturers Worcester Bosch. More than 20 members of the Midlands group attended a half-day session today at the company’s factory in Cotswold Way, Worcester, on the day that the company learned it had been named as the most reliable gas boiler brand in the UK in a Which? magazine survey.   • RARE DECs CPD FROM ASSESSORS’ GROUP A rare chance to clock up some low-cost CPD hours specifically for Display Energy Certificate practitioners is being offered by assessors’ group Midlands Energy Professionals. The group is hosting a day-long DEC Masterclass on Tuesday 29 January, worth 5 hours CPD, with training provided by Sterling Accreditation. The day, which includes lunch, will cost MEP members just £40. Sterling-accredited non-members will pay £75, and other assessors £90, but non-members who decide to join up will get the day and a year’s MEP membership for their £100.
